... And every time I was angry about my old radio alarm clock for setting the alarm time. The buttons on the cheap discounter Funkwecker (identical models also available here on Amazon with a different brand name) have no pressure point, so that one has already landed instead on the hour adjustment to the minute adjustment. I have now owned several such alarm and after about two years, the keys were no longer useful to use. So I have been looking for an alternative. My wife had now discovered the Regent radio alarm clock, which is designed similar to the Dostmann. However, the Regent costs about 40 euros (some in the travel version cheaper), but unfortunately only one alarm. This is an exclusion criterion for me, because in addition to my Standardweckzeit every week one or two other Aufstehzeiten required. In two hours, an adjustment of the alarm time is much less frequently required. The Dostmann seems very popular and the offer prices fluctuate greatly. I bought it here at Amazon for 22 €.
Time all features summarized:
++ Dual alarm. By framing the alarm time good visibility which alarm is set.
+ Easy to read on the dessert. But if one looks from above on the low-lying alarm clock, the readability is somewhat limited. There are also alarm clock with angled display, my last model (Mebus) ended up on the dessert considerably more difficult to read. Best Displays have been built in the (early) Aldi alarm clocks.
+ Permanent backlight possible (can be silenced). This is just so bright that you can read the time well. But do not know yet if I'll use the feature permanently. On some days, a dark room stock is would you prefer me. But that's a personal taste issue.
++ Lighting is very well resolved. You have to press the red button briefly above. The time is displayed for a few seconds. So it's not pressed somewhat longer as I know it from other models ago. Very pleasant half-asleep. In addition, the contrast in the lighting is very good. The lighting of the display will light evenly and beautifully bright. Still no sense of glare.
+ Turning the alarm on the left and / or right sliding switch. No need to search, where the switch is located. Fast issuance via the red button possible (Snooze), permanent shutdown then the slide switch.
+ Also for adjusting the alarm time, there are right and left down its own button.
+ Battery indicator, when the battery tends to an end.
+ Temperature display
++ Initially pleasantly quiet alarm that is louder then. For hearing impaired people may be too low. In my old alarm clocks I usually somewhat glued over the loudspeaker, so you do not scare as high.
+ Batteries are included.
+ Reasonable price
When Dostmann following features are missing compared to the Regent Travel Clock:
o radio signal is received only from Frankfurt. As a 1500 km range is specified in the manual. However, a manual adjustment is also mögich. At Regent there receiving frequencies for the different continents.
o No blocking of keys possible. Actually only relevant in the case. Here then it is advisable to remove the battery.
So overall an ideal alarm clock with dual alarms, great lighting and pleasant Wecktonlautstärke.
