Comfort
The Exercise Freak ih ear headphones are naturally wirelessly, which is great. You have your hands free while jogging and not constantly in the cable away. Alternatively, I have the cable just always worn under T-shirt, but has the disadvantage that the cell phone you can not easily pull out of your pocket if you want to. Here offer such Bluetooth headset of course primarily to wireless convenience.
But more important is the seat of the handset. They are quite small and light and are simply clamped like a hearing aid behind the ear. Younger Speaker pushes you look a little way into the ear canal, which at first feels a bit strange and funny. But the whole thing then leads to its good wearing feeling that one is no longer noticed after a short time and even on the contrary, feels very pleasant.
The part is clamped behind her ear you realize of course at first a little, jog after a short time when you or other sporting activities as well forget it. I am temporarily wearing glasses and with glasses is all no problem.
Very pleasant Here, the air cushion on the inside of the handset. These ensure that the receiver will not stick to the scalp, but always remains a small gap, can circulate through the air. Even when you operate the buttons this cushion slightly.
The seat of the handset during sport itself is then very different for me at least, but probably should be my ear shape. Normal inEars fall I always get out, no matter what I do, move even when bare head, so I need more listeners you can clamp behind her ear. Say I probably oddly shaped ears.
When I go jogging and use this handset, then sits the left bombenfest normally and never needs to be readjusted, the right needs to be readjusted from time to time. But this is also quite simple in one briefly presses his finger against the phone and everything fits well again.
Neckband
The neckband is a little my biggest problem with these headphones, primarily from aesthetic considerations. So in itself it is super. It's easy, you almost do not notice unless something wearing collared eg a thick winter jacket wearing hooded and then moves the head (what you do naturally more common). I wear during sports but rarely tops with a high collar so that it would be disruptive. And it has a reflector which is very useful as you will be well seen in the dark so from behind by motorists, an additional plus in terms of safety in any case.
Plotting the headphones then but not in sports, but in everyday life you will like to know times approached by friends and acquaintances what you as funny as bears, the whole teeters well when viewed from behind already so that it is at least striking. I even see the course not, so it does not bother me, but I was there already three or four times it approached.
Welding resistance
I belong to the people who already sweating when they watch a hammer, I accordingly oils while jogging and other sports activities very well. How this has been touted for the headphone is no problem so far. In some customer opinions, although I have read that the listener would have made trouble for some time, but I can not confirm that yet and I use it now already several weeks, on average every other day for 30-60 minutes during exercise. If at some point it out such problems arise, I will point out here.
Sound
The sound is great for my needs. The headphones are primarily intended as a sports listener and I just want to casually listen to my music, so it does not get bored with a 10km run. I would even ideally still able to perceive the surrounding noise, just for safety reasons. The latter works with other (though wired) headphones slightly better, but the sound of the Denon receiver is very good, the bass is good and I am absolutely satisfied. From a noise and a significantly poorer quality than the original iPhone headphones I can not say anything, the sound is always good to very good.
Features
The listeners have some buttons which also provide some features. One can classically pause or restart the music, you push the button twice switches to a song before, pushes him three times to a song back. There are buttons for loud and quiet, and there is also a button to answer or reject calls. With an iPhone you can order even activate Siri and then by voice to call someone, write text messages or the like, which I have not tested the latter.
Accumulator
The battery life is according to the manufacturer 7-9 hours. I've just done the endurance test and the time stopped holding a charge and am come down to almost exactly eight hours. Thus even the slowest runners should be able to survive a marathon. In my usage I have to do to reload only every two weeks the handset.
Unfortunately I forgot to show in the video that you can on the iPhone directly in the status bar has a charge status indicator, which indicates how full the battery is still. This is very handy, because otherwise you never know how full the battery is still, the device itself has no such indication.
When the battery power is coming to an end of the last bar of the indicator turns red and the handset will be acoustically noticeable by a warning signal sounds once per minute. After it has heard the first time, you still so 10-15 minutes before the receiver turn off. Then you have to recharge the battery via micro usb cable, what is done in a few hours.
Must denounce you here however, that the battery is firmly installed. For the small size, I do not know if that would be all well otherwise have been solved, but permanently installed batteries are for me an absolute no-go, and something that I will denounce future forever. Batteries are now even worse over time and it's totally stupid having to replace an otherwise functioning machine, because you can not simply replace the battery and a replacement from the manufacturer would be almost as expensive as buying a new one. Obsolescence is the buzzword here.
I'm curious how the battery power will develop over the next six months, it should give as changes, I will supply later the course. Generally, I'm with the battery performance but so far more than satisfied that there are really eight hours I would rather not expected.
Bluetooth
The coupling to the Smartphone works without problems. Once you then turn on the handset they connect immediately with the unit with which you have recently connected.
The manual states that the phone should not carry in your pocket, but either in your hand or in a smartphone pocket on the upper arm, as this can result in interruptions.
My experience here are very different and I do not even know what it depends on the audience and from the iPhone. On some days I never misfires when I wear the iPhone in your pocket, on other days it may come every few minutes to take a short, only seconds long dropouts while jogging times. I had this problem but so far with all Bluetooth headphones, so I can not push 100% to the headphones this shortcoming, here you should VLT itself. perform a few other advice to heart or just try out times
Speakerphone:
The one can absolutely forget. Ultimately, only a nice to have. I myself have not yet heard how it sounds when one speaks about it, but the feedback from my interlocutor has always been unanimous: Get rid of it and the phone to his ear and his mouth. Say for longer calls absolutely unsuitable. Shortly telephoning the contrary to take jogging absolutely suitable, or if you know people who always tell a lot;)
App
Apps. Today you need an app for everything. Denon there are two apps, a pure music player and SportsApp. The Musikapp is very cool, it is basically the normal iPhone music app with built-in equalizer. The Sportsapp is the same as Runkeeper in principle. You can using GPS to record its course, gets while jogging at specified times a progress report, for example when one has brought a of kilometers, to live can be tracking via social media or run a virtual race against a friend, or or or. All very nice features you but mostly known by other manufacturers, I stick to my proven Runkeeper, but that is always a matter of taste. Nachtteilig is definitely the app so far only English present.
Conclusion:
Now the review is nevertheless become much longer than intended. I have addressed a lot of points, some critical, for an overall conclusion it is necessary to weigh all but.
I really enjoy it, to finally go jogging without the hassle of wires. The battery life is long enough to complete several runs can before you have to reload. The seat is used to, but very well, only I have to re-adjust from time to time, where I once shortly afterwards press the right handset. I suppose but for Kabellosigkeit gratefully accepted. The sound is for my needs during sports absolutely outstanding and satisfactory.
I use the Exercise Freak receiver from Denon for several weeks while jogging regularly and am so far very impressed.
Money Technically definitely an investment, but in my view a worthwhile.
