Very pleased with the Pentax case so far. Astonished by: - The excellent image quality, very much higher than the K-30 or K-01, despite a rise in a lower iso hair. But the details are full, the images are 'more alive'. Besides, I highly recommend going on an optical superior to the basic 18-55mm kit actually quite poor. To 'spit' to all its possibilities your sensor 35mm f / 2.4 or better the 50mm f / 1.8 will be excellent partners. - Revisited the menus. Always simple, logical, understandable, and quite allow customization of its case. - Grip the device: Excellent! The case is rather compact, looks very robust, and despite this new compact design offers ease of handling such I find it easier to fit in with the K-30. The backlighting of the keys is a good idea (can be disabled if ever it seems to me) in my eyes. And then finally the disposal of wheels does not shock, it is reminiscent of the hybrid philosophy. - The performance LiveView mode, especially with the Manual Focus FocusPeaking (help with map). We regret mostly that the screen is fixed, it will lie sometimes (old what!). The touch is absent, but it does not bother me too much. - The effects to be applied in post processing or direct use to shoot are more successful and fun. They are in the vein of what pleases smartphone. Not so impacting that much, but some love I'm sure. - Autonomy is correct with about 370 photographs taken during my first trips before charging beast. This is just okay, but if we do not scrap it ever be quite.
I did not like the location of the AEL-AFL button too close to the grip for the thumb, I sometimes pressed unintentionally. Too bad the WiFi only be available through a special SD card (available during odr Pentax), or there is no integrated GPS. Having said this it is always more autonomy issue.
In summary not too many flaws for K-S1 surprising in many ways, remains a dedicated device to photography rather old and that favors high image quality and robust finishing more good reactivity to the detriment some technological extras that are starting to become common in competition.
In terms of reliability in the medium-long term, only the future will tell.
I posted three photographs taken at K-S1 coupled with two fixed focal lengths to show some what quickly obtained as results.
