I have the TZ 18 bought as a second camera, when the SLR of space or weight reasons to stay at home. I've been buying have not looked back since. The device is not a shirt or trouser pocket fit in your pocket but it fits well into it. Power up and project: The Knöpflein and Schalterchen are less suitable for large paws - with fingertips and -nägeln but you go after a short familiarization quite well. Setting: I, too (as one of my pre-reviewers) an ISO 100-photographer with Aperture-priority and "flash-off". Even a slight underexposure should be (1/3 stop), because I otherwise the images are too light (Thanks for the tips, Elchfan). With its large display, you can aim at the subject well - provided you have the sun at your back. Since I like to photograph with counter or sidelight, I see on the screen (Mirror, mirror ...) only my own face. And that's not very nice. The only solution: maintain camera with one hand, cast a shadow with the other means of cap or newspaper, then the subject is at least like shadowy foreboding. The autofocus does the rest. Click. Who wants to have a viewfinder, which is such a camera can not buy. But I have known before, and therefore there's also no (star) deduction. Ah yes, the resolution of the display: The loose enough to me, since I anyway until the computer assessed the images on-screen. There's nothing to complain about in my opinion. But now the main thing: the pictures. They are remarkably well considering the small sensor and the high number of pixels. ISO 100, as I said (and tried). A stroll through the old town of Regensburg yielded almost no waste. In the evening, the hosts, great satisfaction. Conclusion: no "camera" for enjoyable take pictures, but rather a practical, fine "Knipserlein" to always have to make a do not miss any more photo. Or at least almost none.
