Optical Performance:
Only 7 diaphragm blades promised when stopping not perfectly round aperture and therefore also in borderline situations a less beautiful picture background (bokeh). However, one can the case of a telephoto zoom anyway not assume, because experts can telephoto photos, which were made with fixed focal length or zoom lenses, often differ slightly. The image backgrounds are at Zoom photos never been so beautiful and harmonious fluent as with fixed focal lengths, even when the same aperture.
At 200 mm Endbrennweite optimal Nutzblenden are only f: 8 F: 16 is little. At maximum aperture, it is not sharp enough and f me going 8 already lost a lot of light. From f: 16 then let the sharpness values by diffraction again slightly.
I think the objective should at least at f: 5,6 and at 200 mm fully draw sharp and contrasty.

The Fujifilm prime lenses feature very good and with large aperture also very nice that you can now only a few new lenses so spontaneously behaupten.Die Fujifilm zooms want to be better than other zooms, but only processing and light intensity are slightly better - ultimately it difficulties experienced competitors: Panasonic, Nikon & Canon to schlagen.Ich did it with the Sony Nex 4.5 to 6.3 / 55-210 mm, the Panasonic 4.0-5.6 / 45-175 mm and 4, 5 to 5.6 / 100-300 mm; Olympus can compare 4.0-5.6 / 40-150 mm directly.
For me it was the most exciting to see how it is dimmed at open aperture and 1 level at 200 mm focal length suggests. It was clearly better than the Sony-design, approximately the same on with Olympus and Panasonic 100-300 mm. But the image results with the low-cost, small Powerzoom 5.6 / 45-175 mm Panasonic I like better. The difference is not large, but it is visible. The Fujifilm 3.5-4.8 / 55-200mm OIS (11,8cm long - 590g difficult - 1: 5.6 magnification bez a VF) may, for example, the Panasonic 45-175 mm (9.0cm long - 210g heavy - 1: 2.5 do not hit) open aperture. The Fujifilm telephoto zoom is significantly heavier and larger, and has a somewhat lower magnification, is considerably longer, has no power zoom and costs twice as much.
Autofocus
Fujifilm has not made many innovative steps the autofocus development, he is despite repeated repair (Please download the latest software!) Still felt far from the microFourthirds-, Sony and Nikon system cameras. At first I had a lot of not perfectly sharp focused motifs, which is also due to my quick operation but. I am already at the next image and the Fuji has the present not sharp in the box. I'm spoiled by Canon, Nikon and Panasonic. With a little more calm then the non-moving motives were also focused properly.
But moving subjects can be captured so little sharp with the best will, here the Fuji-AF is still years behind the results with other system cameras and even further away from the DSLR results. The latest firmware brought here no significant improvement, the response speed is just too slow.
Light:
+ Image Stabilizer to 3 f-stops
+ Processed sound
Delivered + sun visor with
+ Very quiet AF
+ Aperture ring
+ Very good contrast
+ No disturbing CAs
+ Innenfocussierung, front glass does not rotate with
+ No mechanical transmission elements
+ Slight barrel distortion
+ Made in Japan
+ Nor price value
Shadows:
- AF is not really fast, especially with moving subjects
- Stativring missing
- Large 62 mm filter thread
- OIS slider moved slightly
- Aperture ring only in 1/3 increments
- Good focus only up to 135 mm
- At 200 mm until f: 11 really sharp
- Is extended very long
- Relatively difficult
- No window for setting distance and magnification
- Not so good magnification 0,18x
Conclusion
We are very spoiled today, a 4.8 / 55-200mm (4.8 / 85-300 mm OIS as compared to full-frame) is hardly an auspicious telephoto zoom lens this would require it even a 5.6 / 100 be -400 mm. If it needs to be stopped down by 1 plus' stages to show very good optical performance, it is well used almost only in good light or a tripod. It is a good lens, but it would be better at 200 mm, ultimately, it is too large and too heavy to make really fun at the recent Fujifilm cameras. The Fuji XF system is obviously designed more for short focal lengths. Really annoys me even the aperture ring, although I am glad that he is back, but with 1/3 stops I can not do anything, the differences are too small, he should at least be reprogrammed to 'stages.
Therefore, if FUJI CAMERA SYSTEM - then prime lenses as 14 mm; 23 mm; 35 mm or 60 mm?
Both zooms have so far not fully convinced me in comparison.
I hope that Fujifilm autofocus with new Sensooren soon can make even faster and more accurate in the next cameras and finally also offers a camera with real grip.
