Vanguard Adaptor 46 SLR Camera Backpack anthracite (Accessories)

Customer Review

This review is from: Vanguard Adaptor 46 SLR Camera Backpack

So far I had a camera bag for my camera equipment I carry across the shoulder. that turned out at a bike tour to be quite impractical. This kept slipping forward and then dangled in front of me.
So it had a photo backpack ago (or a camera backpack).

me some were recommended by Tamrac, Lowepro and kata. I have also other brands and watched manufacturer and by reading the reviews. partially> 150 EUR is required for a photo backpack, I find that bit exaggerated.

My criteria were: on a bicycle tour I should quickly times can take a picture when I stop short. So no big unpack or similar. also should be comfortable and well sit (comfort) the whole.

That was the advantage of the Slingshot backpack from Lowepro, the could well bring forward and quickly get out the camera.

the Vanguard Adaptor 46 lot has already been said, I wanted to briefly summarize my experience:

- The times for the camera is accessible from both sides. which is good at first. However, one has to choose a side, because you have to install the Velcro flooring for one of the sides.
- The classification of soils I see as a disadvantage. because there are only two large floors that can be installed across (they are transverse, if you have the backpack fitted) and three smaller ones that you still can clamp in between. taking a the possibility of designing the fan quite serious. so it is only possible to the interchangeable lenses in a particular way to pack there. at the backpack from Lowepro I found the L-shaped Velcro compartments much kompfortabler because they could be also vertically or horizontally installed.
- Had from the small bases of the two manufacturers can give to an additional or - especially at this price.
- Unfortunately fits in this classification of subjects no body with attached telephoto lens in, you get the not flap about.
- The upper compartment can be reached somewhat awkward: one must first two clips, protect open before versentlichen the side flaps open, until you come to the back zipper. in terms of volume, it is, unfortunately, not very big.
- A rain cover does not exist in this backpack unfortunately.
- You can wear the-art switch between two shoulder straps and a. Therefore one must only settle one of the two, and insert between times in one, the other then span across. I like that. But you have to also make a strap a bit further as it goes across the body.
- The hideaway mount for a tripod is great.

I'm curious to see how long the plastic clips and zippers, which is located only in continuous use (sand, sea air with salt water, ...) show.

originally I tended rather to Lowepro, but there you have only (transverse, load one side on a shoulder on the body), which some have a strap faulted in their reviews.

My conclusion: recommended.

Update 8.7.13:
--------------
after I had a few times backpacking, let me briefly describe my other experiences.

it is convenient that you can arrange the strap left or right and thus can carry the backpack across one shoulder. so can be the (he) put rucksack quickly under the arm forward.

However, I realized after a few hours, the weight of the camera, though my D3000 is one of the smaller / lighter. so if possible, I recommend wearing on both shoulders.

the belt also scrubs repeatedly uncomfortable (at the transition from padded to not padded belt) on the neck, if you forward swinging arm the pocket under. It certainly depends on the height and the length of the strap from einstellten, but for me it was.

the top flap is a bit awkward to open, you must first open the two side clips then fold the "ears" to the top, and then open the zipper. Well, other manufacturers have more elegant (easier) solved. the volume of the upper compartment is not too big and to fill poorly through the narrow opening: if there already eg a 0.5l bottle of water cross in this box-turvy one has packed something, so can the bottle difficult to remove.

for me it would be better if the flap is made so that even one such as a raincoat cross can clamp underneath as it is with the small backpacks often.

the inner compartment for the camera is even for my D3000 just big enough. I have plugged in the middle between the two partitions, the handle with your right hand to get her out, I open the memory card door by mistake from the camera, because it is so close (I do not have sausage fingers!).

I would recommend to anyone, when you buy the pack with the targeted equipment (camera, lens, flash, tripod, water bottle, rain jacket or whatever) to invite to go and try it all the time.

Update 12:09:13:
----------------

Service: The service is easy to reach by phone. I've ordered there two additional inlay floors (partitions), it was quite straightforward and prompt (and then free) delivered. I think that's great!

Handling: currently I have three lenses in use, taking out one of the three is a bit tedious, I'll be badly off, the side opening could be a bit bigger.
keep far all seams and zippers, a little rain, the backpack also has gotten - with no harm for the inner workings. the strap above acts slight, but holds to date.

Update 28/12/13:
----------------

the mount for a tripod is convenient and keeps well. However, swinging the tripod while walking back and forth (left and right), can what kind of people who go out to get mean, possibly painful head injury (stand pack size = 70cm). So be careful here.

with the clamped stand allows the backpack swinging forward no longer so easily. here is remove the camera (with clamped tripod) problematic because the tripod by its weight to the backpack in the horizontal position moves / flips. tansportieren to the tripod so handy for taking pictures while the bracket rather in the hand carry and possibly leave., so the camera can be easily rausholen again.

when about 1.5 hours. Trip to Partnachklamm (where there all the time over and over again down dripping) things in the top drawer were ever wet. that is, the "lid" (the top flap from the backpack) has all feutchtigkeit / water not completely prevented. because in the 46-ies no backpack raincover are, it is not necessarily for long marches in the rain suited. possibly under the top flap ne Insert plastic bag so it does not by rains. the remaining equipment itself, which was one floor below, has the feutchtigkeit or wet gotten nothing ...

Update 22:03:14:
----------------
now I have a small tripod with packing size 40cm, which keeps the vanguard shorter tripod much better (more stable) than the longer.
I usually my quick release plate from the tripod to the camera have it, this bothers especially when plugging the camera in the backpack, since the space for the camera in the backpack is quite narrow.
Meanwhile, I've also had a Sigma lens as always top of the camera, this is objectively a bit thicker than the standard kit lens that is to date on it. the opening in the bag for the lens is also quite narrow and the lens just thicker. the space in your backpack is really tight, but I bring my whole equipment under: D3000 with Sigma 17-50 lens, a 55-300 telephoto, a 35mm lens, ext. lightning, a filter and the sun visors. In addition, the charger and a spare battery.
processing continues to be good, so far there is nothing got broken (no zip, no clip), all the best.

Update 04/10/14:
-----------------
Today the zipper on the right-side door is broken: the move he has clamped briefly, then he jumped out. I could indeed einfedeln him again (with some violence), but he is now damaged and can no longer be used. the door is closed but I had to rebuild the backpack so that I (= flap opposite) only from the other side can plug the camera. that's a bit unusual for me, but it works.

I find it weak that it is broken after less than 1.5 years of use of the zipper: therefore deliver 1 star!
