I use this lens for air travel to distant lands. Because: It's easy, and I can also shoot from wide landscapes to interiors to event-portraits all. The focal length of 12mm circumference (equivalent to 18mm camera conversion) to 24mm (equivalent to 36mm camera conversion) makes it all possible. Along with the Nikon D5100 carries not hard. The picture quality is niko typically uniformly very good, with excellent 24mm. I attribute this very good image quality back on the used quality ED glass. As polarizing filters I use B & W KSM 77mm C-Pol MRC who perfectly plays with the objective and does not involve any weakening of the imaging quality by itself. The only drawback is the relatively high price of the lens, but is justified by the quality of the lens thoroughly. So full purchase recommendation
