I purchased this bag for my 15 Dell XPS. This has quite similar extent as the MBPr. It's a little bit bigger, but now after 3 weeks, the bag has a little stretched and it fits perfectly. A violent collision is this shell can not absorb, but it is slightly padded. I transport my laptop so the backpack and holding this for the optimal solution.
