The flexibility lies exactly between silicone and polycarbonate, ie, the shell does not feel as sticky as silicone, but is not as brittle as polycarbonate - for me the ideal material. The envelope was fit and comes a little bit on the edge of the display so that the same is not scratched when you put the iPod on the table.
