This is my first hiking boot, so I can not draw any comparisons. In any case, it fits perfectly, because nothing expresses even after hours and several kilometers. The feet stay warm and dry even in heavy rain and inclement terrain. From me the peaklander gets a strong buy recommendation. As the shelf life is of course I can not say yet, have the shoe only 1 week.
