Fits & works well with the iMac

I use the team with my iMac (Late 2009).
Have this either through the headphone output (which at the same time also an optical digital audio output) or connected via the USB port. Transmitted both optical USB output the sound without annoying background noises by Travo, eddy currents or other background activities.
Works both excellent. The TEAC shall at the same port, the audio control.
Volume can not be controlled by the iMac then, since logically the Teac sound card now processes the audio signal is no longer that of the Mac's.
The kHz input is automatically detected. Whether via EyeTV or iTunes. The team will automatically switch to the incoming signal.
You can not complain about the sound quality really. Think as there is sufficient recessions. Even now I have not heard the best, but there is a significant increase in the purity of music & sound property. The difference between the direct iTunes music or decrease over the Teac can also be heard as a loan. Also since then Apple has upgraded with iTunes Match, the bit rate of songs to 256 kbit, in combination with the Teac it is truly a pleasure.

Unit switches when not in use and automatically enter standby.
So I can only recommend the Teac in combination with an iMac.
