I have the Samsung today received with my new contract. Since I really do not need a new phone and am completely happy with my Nokia 6100, was clear to me from the outset that I will be the Samsung SGH-D800 resell directly. Still, I could not resist the temptation and had the Samsung at least once in their hands and have had to try it at least briefly ... So be it: The first impression the packaging (which is rather unimportant) was not too bad: flat, classy and yet little disorganized. The phone itself has made a fine impression at first glance: after all, it looks to the noble gloss surface not look bad, even if they appear vulnerable, as regards fingerprints, etc. When I picked up the phone in my hand, I was a bit surprised: the "heavy" appearance has not been confirmed. A lightweight phone is indeed already a delight but it should still leave a good and stable processed impression with the user. In short, a cell phone should be felt in your hand! As I said, this impression is just not confirmed; even if you look at the back look: matt, slightly roughened gray-black plastic, which I previously knew only from Korean cars. A pity, considering that Samsung users currently on eBay loose up to 300, - Euro lie down for this device! If one makes to the phone, the user welcomes a sound that must be made for the hearing impaired: the default setting seems a bit noisy and a bit tinny. The dimensions of the SGH-D800 are already a small impact - to bring a slider phone in this format on the market, is awesome. But given the ultra-slim mobile phones from Motorola also easy at the time. So recalls also the keyboard of the SGH-D800 to the keyboard of Motorola, said Samsung is not quite as grippy appears ... a shame! As for the menu guidance I am anyway biased because I am die hard Nokia users. And yet any menu navigation of any phones is just eh habituation thing, just so bad ... On the camera function or the MP3 player is not discussed here, since I am following opinion: who wants to take pictures, a digi-cam hole (suggested here is the Casio EX-Z500 !!!) and who wants to listen to music and watch short videos to get an iPod 5th generation! The Gibt's for nearly 300, - Euro ... the exact 300 euros which you get from the sale of the Samsung SGH-D800) The other functions (which guarantees mature at the SGH-D800 down to the last and are kept up to date) should also project outwardly - am a mobile phone user who always uses only the essentials of a phone. Conclusion: Nearly 300, - Euro (without a contract) would I not worth your mobile phone. For me the process is too weak: the fingerprint-prone, though elegant glossy finish not confirmed the first impression and the shaky sound would be nothing for my iPod pampered ears.
