My older Dell notebook has a rather noisy headphone output. That's why I switched to a USB headset and have not bereuht: Sound quality (headphone and microphone) is very good, the seating is comfortable and the unit was under Linux (Ubuntu 7.10 and Skype) recognized immediately and without hesitation. Am very satisfied so far.
