"The Lion's Roar" was for me a highlight of recent years on the indie folk market and the more I am delighted that the two sisters build where they left off. "Stay Gold" has always very successful indie folk with country and Popanklängen, with again a large orchestra orchestrated, always opulent, yet not too intrusive, the two Strings, flutes and sometimes a dulcimer are added to the wonderful and harmonious vocals. That there are three to four special highlights here, it must be mentioned yet: In addition to beautiful, catchy and sugary indie folk songs, all of which, although very similar sound ("Waitress Song" or "Fleeding one"), there are the same in the opener THE highlight that first single "My silver lining": sounds longingly as a road movie, is driven by wonderful strings and the harmonious voices, and should it indeed create more attention also with us in the German radio stations. In addition, the title track "Stay Gold", which is wonderful, with great generating text and consistently goosebumps "Cedar Lane" is just melancholy and longing in waltz time. Will it be in "Heaven Knows" sometimes momentarily very fast and particularly country-heavy, so there is the closing track "A long time ago," yet the final very piano ballad song which is particularly succeeded mainly by the orchestra. So convinced of this album gives you a wonderful Country Folk mood that will surely fit not only in the summer balmy nights, sunsets, Road Trips, nature excursions and of course gorgeous golden summer days. Very nicely done!
