I have a SONY PRS650 eBook Reader with the very practical original Sony leather sleeve,
the claims for good illumination remain for other eBook Reader but just the same, and are viell at the larger Kindle anyway. more importantly.
Since I do not so 100% was clever of existing Rezesionen I ordered in my opinion the best three suitable types of LED reading lights for testing.
All three reading lights each have three LEDs can be switched between two brightness levels.
This also interested reader can make the right choices easier for themselves,
Do I have something extensive go back and cite the advantages, disadvantages and special features in more detail.
- "Kandle II" by Ozeri .......... (for operation 2x CR2032 button cell, 3x LEDs, push buttons, terminal-mounting, incl bag)
- "Kandle Flex" by Ozeri ....... (for operation 2x CR2032 button cell, 3x LEDs, slide switches, pull-fastening, incl bag)
- "Universal Belkin eBook Light" (for operation 3 AAA batteries, 3x LEDs, slide switches, pull-attachment, no bag)
Ozeri LED reading lights:
=====================
prima packed, 2x button cell already installed (plastic band breaks for Transport Contact) + 2x additional reserve batteries each settled
Belkin Universal eBook Light reading lamp:
=======================================
prima packed, settled no batteries, gooseneck something massive and longer compared to "Kandle Flex" by Ozeri
Kandle II
=========
1 year manufacturer's warranty
For trade the 2x button cell a Phillips screwdriver turning is needed that comes with the package already.
= White cold light =
The "Kandle II" may very well be secured only one hand by the clamping mechanism using the top as well as at the side edge of the Reader,
is the most compact LED reading lamp that you can imagine, for one, unfortunately, have to take a significant disadvantage in buying!
Due to the design is the unfolded reflector after mounting on eBook Reader ca 20mm outside from the outer edge of the reader and remains lit so then inclined at a vertical distance of about 35mm glare on the display.
The illumination of the display is thereby "unfortunately" not so full area as one's like to have, the brightest in the vicinity of the lamp, to the opposite end of the display's remains a bit darker.
But will have all those very good eyes to cope with it and viell. Accept the compromise for the compactness of the lamp in purchasing.
The three-stage pressure switch has a good tactile feedback, but arranged a bit stupid and you have to when handling the reading lamp particularly good care the switch does not make mistakes. to operate or not to be turned on erroneously the lamp in the folded state.
Ideal a tiny Kontrol LED would be on top, but with time you will get used to it ;-)
Life with two button cells about 20 hours.

Kandle Flex Gooseneck:
==============================
1 year manufacturer's warranty
Sliding panel to swap the 2x CR2032 button cell
flexible gooseneck approx 16cm long
= White cold light =
The Besfestigung on the eBook Reader is done by a pull-apart mechanism, which so easily can not be installed as in "Kandle II" by the strong spring tension for more delicate ladies hands, but when once attached to the Reader hälts bombenfest it !!!
The gooseneck of "Kandle Flex" offers the advantage of the lamp body flexibly and with more height distance from the "Ozeri II" to place more even illumination, the more evenly illuminated display loses but by the more vertical spacing something to light what people with sharp eyes maybe not bother ;-(
For my feeling is why should the "Kandle Flex" for a little more luminosity compared to the "Ozeri II" have to the luminosity loss due to possible higher distance from the display to compensate again.
Unfortunately, the luminosity of the "Kandle Flex" is not more for "Kandle II" ;-(
Belkin Universal eBook Light with gooseneck:
==============================================
3-year warranty !!!
black: SKU F5L076cw
white: Model: F5L076cwWHT
Sliding panel to swap the 3x AAA batteries
flexible gooseneck approx 22cm long
= Yellowish warm light =
The attachment to the reader is also made via a pull-apart mechanism, the stroke of the pen is a little less to operate over the "Kandle Flex" and a little more pleasant for petite ladies hands.
The rear panel of the Belkin LED reading lamp is due to the 3x AAA batteries used naturally slightly larger than the Ozeri's but what when using the Reader itself (except for the slightly more weight) not particularly bother, with batteries approximately double weight ( ca 80g) compared with the Ozeri's (ca 45g)
The Belkin LED reading lamp has three remarkable features compared to the two of Ozeri:
- The three LED's have more luminosity
- The three LEDs give off a yellowish, pleasantly warm and eye-friendly light
- The lamp is powered by 3 AAA batteries (thereby conditionally larger battery housing)
The flexible gooseneck and the stronger brightness of the display Belkin lamp is illuminated with yellowish pleasant and augenfeundlichem light evenly bright, glare-free!
a few notes to yourself to think:
===========================================
1x CR2032 button cell Lith ...... ca 220 mAh capacity
1x AAA battery ................ ca 1300 mAh capacity
Conclusion:
======
- All three LED reading lamps are constructed of high quality and are same price roughly
- On the variabelen pull-apart mechanism, the lamps can be placed only on the reader housing or even about the "housing together with the lower cover of the leather cover" either. I am referring in this case only on the Sony Reader, the case thickness approx 10mm and results together with the lower cover approximately 12mm. The thickness of other eBook Reader I do not know.
- The paralell leading pull-apart mechanism must first be pulled apart with both hands, index finger and thumb of one hand hold the distance while the lamp is then approx 15mm wide slid onto the Reader, the lamps hold perfectly on the Reader
- For the clamping-in Besfestigung "Kandle II", the same applies as with the pull-apart mechanism, however, holds the lamp better when these clamps around only the reader housing itself, the clamping mechanism holding optimally at a maximum thickness of about 10mm , Since the rear part of the terminal is only just 2mm thick not mind this limitation when using a Belkin!
- The reflector of the two gooseneck lamps can be protected in the parked position insert and therefore these lamps can operate in any problems and also transported are relatively compact
- Personally I can display my eBook Readers are able to recognize lamps with diffuse light or dark with all these three types of LED,
However, I prefer to read clearly the lamp of "Belkin" that the screen to the bottom Real evenly me from above, plus this illuminated as the only of the three lamps also light enough, and in the first brightness level !!!
- An important consideration if it were still the choice of battery-type (how many times do I have to replace the batteries)
and
.. How long is the warranty
I hope my design was not too long-winded for decision seekers ;-)
