Caveat: everyone turns under his desired camera so before anything else. Maybe it's some people like me: Sometimes as photographer I switched from a digital SLR, because me this heavy equipment was too bulky and impractical in the long term. So I'm spoiled by the photo quality somewhat, but was willing to compromise with my new compact, because I knew that she can not keep up with my two year old Olympus in the performance. I have long in this price segment orientier, the Lumix 7, Sony models etc. tried. The Lumix was a little too slow, the Sony models to unergonomic in the price-performance ratio is not appropriate, the Casio models were a little too "cheap". I then landed in the PowerShot SX210. And she surprised me. What I like about the camera: it does, in terms of size, very quickly (assuming you do not buy the cheapest memory card!) Pretty good photos, even in dimly lit indoor shots. Since it is even better than my SLR! She looks very classy, is very good in the hand, has an aluminum (?) - Frame, and sliding at all between his fingers. I have big hands, and get along well with the operation. The flash drives high each time, but that did not bother me personally when holding. One can also simply push in the flash or show him as needed afterwards manually. The intelligent automatic functions perfectly and quickly and ensure but I also, when should be interested to know me, the chance to make manual adjustments. There are numerous scene modes, which decrease a lot of work. Getting into the camera went smoothly, you need not be read in a long time - this can do but if you want to ramp up the camera even more. What I also was very important: I can simply filming her every now and then my children, without lugging a camcorder. The quality of the films and the sound is good - of course, but not like a high-definition camcorder. But more than useful! Only three things bother me, but for me are not an exclusion criterion: First -When zooming during movies (optical zoom while filming, which also has not any!), You can hear even the faintest Surrgeräusch. Secondly, when filming in very low light conditions or in the snow, the camera initially problems, adjust the focus right - but that was the Lumix 7 also. And third, if you press the zoom and very fast zooms, you sometimes lose track or object out of sight, because the tracking of screen is not so easy. With viewfinder camera that's certainly easier, but that's also a matter of practice. Anyway, I'm glad that I bought it. Although I have unsettled some bad reviews. But these are mostly from people who have not yet figured out that this is a compact camera, and no reflex! This is then also at least twice as expensive - and three times as unwieldy. All in all: the PowerShot SX210 IS, it was not difficult for me to separate myself from my (oversized) SLR. Professionals and semi-professionals, however, who are looking for a true replacement for the SLR, and not willing to make concessions, but will be disappointed by it. Allen demanding clippers but who like to quickly make good family pictures, want to film quickly, and also want to enjoy your vacation photos, (quite inexpensive) of this all-rounder will be convinced.
