The drive is mounted with two small Styrofoam holders in a mere cardboard box; a small, single-sided printed list in English is called "manual" in, is already referred to the fact that the PC or Mac, the drive could possibly not recognize. A reasonable package with decent instructions so is not present, which is in the price, however, in my opinion, not a worse circumstance.
Much worse, however, is that the drive actually does not work!
After the first time you connect to your Mac via the USB port first, nothing happened. The manual states that in this case a reboot to take place, after which the drive is to be displayed.
said and done. No Reaction.
Then I tried to insert said new CD, which also took the drive. Even if the drive then a noise produced, which was louder than the fan of MacBooks at full speed (which is not exactly quiet), the Mac took the CD and I was able to save them to iTunes.
Here the problems began after I wanted to eject the CD from the Mac (manual control or a rescue capability exists) began the drive - to judge by the noises - scratching at my CD, a clunk was heard and on the screen appeared to confirm that the CD was ejected. However, it was not like that. Instead, the CD was still in the drive and a few seconds later was recognized as a new CD and iTunes opened again to save the music. After a few more attempts, I gave the company to finally and contacted the Amazon customer service.
Kindly Amazon sends me a new copy of the CD, which is still stuck in the drive. The drive I will return; a refund was guaranteed to me by the Customer.
Conclusion:
I do not know if and how the drive works on a Windows or Linux PC. For a Mac I'd recommend it for anyone on a budget to get rid of the old CDs and going to make it inaccessible to mankind forever!
So: Hands off, prefer to invest more and to invest around 40 a reasonable drive that works and does not destroy CDs.
