In the illustrations Turquoise is falling far short of the action approach, which entails, if one looks at the reality on the fascinating space acting dial. The complete absence of LCD elements and the matching white date display on a black background were buying decision for me. But not right away. The first haptic contact with the clock there was for me getting used to several surprises.
To date, very expensive usual crafted steel bands, acts specifically the punched from very thin sheet metal buckle on me strange. When closed, the buckle integrates not the bracelet, but is far beyond. Annoying. Ever the bracelet right away is extremely shaky. Only a second glance reassured when one discovers massive elaborately members which are on the underside of which are coupled together by spring bars. Therefore, the theme bracelet but then went right for me. In retrospect, there is to my research, only four G-Shock models with steel strip, one of them the silver sister model of 3000BD. The Black Orange Combi 3000 is only available with a rubber band. But that only incidentally.
Also getting used to for a clock in this price range was the lack of an embossed floor for me. A simple stamped piece of sheet metal adorns the bottom of the clock. Again: The zeite views presented on closer inspection an unusual thickness of the sheet from an estimated 0.8 mm. The edges are deburred cleanly and visibly smoothed. Class.
And last but not least the weight. The first time cradled in his hand and a Plastuhr expected, you get more than the weight of a 3000 shock. I had real doubts as to whether the positive effect on the arm. After adjustment of the band, the clock carries but surprisingly comfortable even on a relatively slender arm. Compared to my mechanical steel diver's watch, the Casio looks much less top-heavy, although already well felt.
CASIO is aware of the fact that the clocks namely "to take a lot" with 20bar pressure resistance (as the original quote on their site), it but could lead to scuba diving at all costs. This should make potential buyers who want to take the clock in the diving holidays conscious. Accidental operation of the controls under water risked a water break and a stop of the pointer. Although the handle of the GW-3000 are so deep-seated that integrates such scenarios should be prevented. Exactly designed to operate in everyday life then but also quite fiddly. In addition, the GW-3000 has, contrary to the erroneous statement on the product page CASIO to only a maximum duration of the stop cycles of 24 min. This fact in combination with the lack of a countdown timer reduces the usefulness of the clock for such applications.
Nevertheless. Such a beautifully designed hand watch with the functionality offered is MAN depending on taste very rarely or not at all again. Despite the densely packed scope of functions here is lost in my opinion, nothing in terms of clarity, usability, or everyday use. The operation is understood quickly and simply fun, because the pointer whiz really fast on the sheet, the coupled function pointer to the "3" even backwards. Due to the principle, the function pointer to the (tiny) small auxiliary sheets are difficult to detect when the main pointer to sit about. They have chosen specifically for this model, but knows exactly this limit.
