On many devices, the operability is now severely limited, because hardly keys are still present. Instead, the car radio via the phone or a factory fitted steering wheel remote is operated.
Normally keys for car stereos are only installed when a CD slot is provided: the de facto forces me to buy a machine with the CD player, although I do not use more CDs. This also fits that the OnOff key is always combined with new devices with the SRC button (again a key saved) and mute buttons, there are only very rarely. The simple off has become an ordeal. Mostly you have to press the SRC button until the device is made of almost two seconds. Even otherwise, the fumbling with the SRC button and the multifunction rotary switch is a horror.
When Blaupunkt dissolved in my view better. The left knob provides, in addition to the volume control, two functions: short press: Mute, long press: off. I use especially Mute very often because I like making up advertising on the radio or even short wegschalte the tone in discussions. If you use Mute to CD, then you have a one, two seconds pause accept until the tone is back. This is because the CD ends with Mute to rotate and when you turn off mute, the CD should only start again to turn. With USB and Radio goes virtually timeless, between tone - Mute switch.
Good also the src-switch has been solved:
- All sources, where nothing is connected (AUX, USB, SD card, CD) will not be automatically displayed when you switch the src switch.
- The other sources can also switch off manually. Now I've set it up so that I only have the radio FM1 and USB in the sources. So I can toggle instantly between src Radio and USB. Excellent! That can not be many other makes.
The station keys or memory keys carry with me for the ease of use.
I trimmed first that you have the function "Next song" / "previous song" not placed on the station buttons. Instead, you do it with the right rotary control. This has advantages and disadvantages. Disadvantage: if you want to just jump further a song, you have to turn careful not to jump too far already. Advantage: if you are in a list, it is much faster.
The reception quality is good enough for me. In my Dacia Logan with rather plain speakers and a primitive roof antenna I can not get out as much as anyway. But what you really can not complain, is the volume! From soft to loud, I can control the radio to suit my needs. I also find the gradation very appealing. I also notice that the knobs not wiggle like other brands ... so the Blaupunkt feels valent to me than any other device. (When I say now what devices I tried and have found to be poor, it hails back non-helpful-clicks ... ;-))
I've had good experience with it, the sensitivity of + to - switch. What exactly happened there, I can only guess. In any case I feel that the transmitter thereafter had lower noise (probably finds the radio with this setting is no longer as many stations.)
Very comfortable I find the mixture of manual and automatic station search: turning the right control knob slightly clockwise and the radio searches for the next station with good reception. If you want to save, then do you make a long press on one of the station keys. Otherwise, again a slight turn and the next station is searched.
I could well disqualify with balance and fader the music for me. Loudness I found unnecessary; the music sounds so dull and the results on the equalizer are better.
The display shows a row of 15 letters. My earlier Kenwood 6047u had a dot matrix display. The first looks nice but is unreadable in daylight and from the side. Right away I would say even when the Toronto display in daylight is not easy to read. I sure do not depart a star has only one reason: the the displays of other brands (Kenwood, Sony, ...) are read every bit as bad in daylight. Extremely annoying is that to connect Blaupunkt unit was. The first time the speedometer was gone - I would have thrown the Toronto almost out the window again. Luckily the reviewer Saxe had given (a vote-click for you) a Note: Sub Out GND does not work out. You have to do the following:
The speed signal is first transferred from the car to the car radio (so there, the volume can be adjusted to the speed-dependent driving noise) and then passed from the radio to the speedometer. The works of the Dacia Logan in conjunction with the Blaupunkt not.
At the back of the Blaupunkt manual you will find the pin assignment. As you can see on Pin 1 of block A of the Sub Out GND. These are two thin cables - this is also easy to distinguish: that is the only pin, go to the two green wires. The dimmer switch is completely nonsensical. The brightness difference is minimal.
Selecting the scan time is almost perfect; I would have wished but as the smallest value 2 seconds instead of 4 seconds. In long lists can last with four seconds for a while until you find a song. Since it would go faster with 2 seconds the list. But no matter.
Another reviewer commented that the station buttons do not have tactile dots. True, this could have been done better. (But is already complain at a high level) I'm going to have a ride a few weeks with the Blaupunkt. And if it still bothers me that you can not feel the buttons blindly, then I'll stick tiny flakes on every second key with superglue. But I rather suspect that will not be necessary.
Total'm with the Blaupunkt very satisfied (except for the fact that I had to fumble at the terminals). If I have had experience with Bluetooth, I will add the Rezi yet.
[Edit 1] I have now actually glued tactile pressure points on the keys namely: RAYHER - plastic pearls, self-adhesive, ø 5 mm, dark blue. It looks classy, almost as if provided at the factory so. And I can feel the blind keys now. I also worked the first time with Bluetooth and although navigating the Xperia Z1.
