However, for USB 3.0 connector housing side, it seems indeed fragile at first, as outlined above.
Personally, I rarely moves the case and that side of the cable (micro USB 3.0) remains permanently connected to the case, which should limit the risks.
I have not tried the black version of the product shown here but a priori, the shell is made of anodized aluminum, non-glossy surface, thus insensitive to fingerprints, as the silver version.
Only the unrounded slice (the one mobile when inserting the disc) is glossy black finish, but it holds quite a few fingerprints anyway.
The USB 3.0 cable duplex receptacle (power + data) is of good length, rather thick and rigid.
On most PC tried (mostly USB 3.0), the only data taken is sufficient to power the drive without hub (the disk is a Seagate Momentus 7200.7 ST9500423AS 500 GB).
On a device with a power port is limited (Raspberry Pi, for example), it will absolutely against use by both jacks or a hub with power supply.
Transfers USB 3.0 can achieve the maximum speed allowed by a disc trays.
I have not tried with a USB 2.0 or SSD.
The only thing missing in this case, an ON / OFF button, as often, unfortunately, on the boxes of this size.
Otherwise, I am happy with my purchase for now, to see the long term.
This brand differs from other Chinese manufacturing by a packaging which seems a bit more polished (although manual translated, proper bundle, good finishes) and offers interesting products.
A very good quality / price ratio in my eyes.
