Design, processing and comfort:
The processing of the headphone is impeccable and incredibly massive. Here however the earphone is not particularly difficult, but it is pleasantly portable.
The design was unlike the models DT990 and DT770 a few years ago reissued, so that the product has a relatively modern, timeless design. Nevertheless, it is not here is a crazy "trendy" headphone design. This is likely to be regarded as classical.
The comfort is in my opinion really good because the processed material and the upholstery used are very pleasant and therefore allow longer wearing sessions.
Unfortunately, the headset comes with a cable fixed. Beautiful would be safe here a Anstecklösung been. Since Beyerdynamic promises, however, that each individual part of the product is interchangeable, can be calmed somewhat coarser with the cable and the headset itself deal, so this is not an issue then.
The sound:
Here you have to clearly differentiate the area of application. For the studio these headphones are really extremely popular and this also cope. The sound it creates to represent the music very linear and without large outliers (for example, for mixing of tracks). But beware: As this is the 250 ohm version of the headset, a reasonable headphone amplifier is absolutely necessary. For the home studio (for example, to an external audio interface) this headset is worth a recommendation. Even on my Kenwood AV receiver made these headphones little sense.
This of course comes: If you want to use the headset for listening to music, not only for music production:
The sound is so linear, so it looks very very boring at the same time. I am absolutely not a fan of Basswummen such as the Beats headphones, or even the vote supposedly modern subwoofer systems. A little more bass and a slightly bigger fun factor one wishes while listening to music then, however, already. In addition, of course, is also here with no headphone amplifier nothing. An iPhone, iPad and Co makes such a high-ohmiges device not make sense anyway.
Who is looking for a headset that is suitable for music production as well as for listening, which should look around for a device with less Ohm. As a rule, the most professional headphones, for example, from Shure or Sennheiser, but the good headphones from Sony, Pioneer and AKG an ohmic value in the range of 40-90 ohms, so they certainly embody a much better all-rounder and additionally also on mobile devices Make a good impression. For this purpose you should also look at the Beyerdynamic Headphones with lower ohmic value.
Anyone looking for a studio headphones, which is exactly right, if he joins this to a headphone output with enough power.
Anyone looking for a rounder, or does not have enough power jack in the home studio of the variants should look with less Ohm.
Those looking for a pair of headphones for listening to music, which was to set a bit spaßigeres device. There certainly headphones that make a lot more fun and possibly even cost less.
Here one should look at the new Sony headphones slightly higher or the new Bose headphones in my opinion once.
