The lights have different from the "big" brothers Iris Bloom or no remote control, but can be adjusted via a touch panel. It can be found within this panel a on-off switch, at the same time the color changing mode can be activated via the, but that is not adjustable in speed. The light is missing in comparison with the great lights, the settings for color intensity and brightness. The latter is in operation, even a shortcoming, that later more.
Processing of light is ok, even if the parts of the plastic housing fit together not quite fit in our copy. The lamp is powered by an AC adapter, the feed line is not very long failed. It provides at 5 watts measured consumption 50 lumens of light output, which is sufficient to bring color into the nursery. Operation via the touch panel is very straightforward and the colors can be like on the Aufruck set by smaller children.
Our child had a lot fun to be able to adjust "its" color in the room. Also, the turning on and off is possible to children without any problem. Off the energy meter was actually at 0 watt consumption.
It can indeed be color not as accurate as with the great lights set, but the entire color spectrum is quite well covered by the lamp, only a pure white lacks the lamp.
But now the major shortcoming of the lamp. It is also advertised as a bedside lamp / night light and for this we would also like to use. However, the 50 lumens for this are too much. The light interferes with falling asleep, here it would have been useful, Philips had the lamp an additional controller for the brightness donated, which would have been justified in my view, given the EIA.
Summary:
++ Child-friendly implementation of the Living Colors series
+ Current price is to be set fair (+ good brightness to color accents
+ Easy operation
+ Integrated automatic color change
o Processing
o color change can not be set in the speed
o lead not too long
- No brightness adjustment
- As a night light too bright
Conclusion:
At this price, the lamp is certainly a recommendation and certainly an enrichment for children, but it is to use due to lack of dimming function as a night light less, here I would have liked an additional dimming function in view of the EIA. It is nice that a color change is integrated, but unfortunately this is in the speed can not be set, which would have been quite possible via the touch panel. So the color change is a little hectic. The processing is not what I was used to from Living Colors.
But as I said, for the present price which is bearable and the lamp a good, though not perfect addition for the nursery.
