The printer can print an image sometimes that makes the printer for this price really good.
Also good photos bring the printer good on paper. In poorly exposed photos, however, make color distortion noticeable.

Nevertheless, one must still take another compromise. For photos of course perfectly, the printer leaves a slightly shiny color on the paper. So photos look good and the color brings a certain brilliance to the paper.

This brilliant effect, there is now but also the text. Ultimately, however, only a matter of taste.
In a bright room / direct light sources, I find this reflections, which are seen particularly in boldface, personally a bit disturbing.

For business letters, I would therefore continue to recommend a normal monochrome laser printer instead of such an LED printer.
A faint typeface looks simply beautiful.

But anyone who simply wants to have a universal printer with occasional color printing, for which the printer is really top.

Compared to my old monochrome laser printer that has the sides only so kicked, the Dell printer is significantly slower.
Annoys me in the cooling phase of a bit too small dimensioned fan, but those are just little things, the fan goes off again after 5 minutes anyway.

What I like: The paper is despite that it does not disappear in the device, but still quite good protected against dust.
Sometimes you do not use the dust cover, because it is just too shaky, and anyway is not attached, but which is not in the printer case

The Epson AcuLaser C1700 would certainly be a good alternative, and according to tests produced an even better photo printing, but I have not tested. For this he should sometimes have other disadvantages in the tray.
Thus, the Dell will also keep.
