One day a man makes his suitcase. He leaves his wife and daughter, then he goes. He takes the train and boarded a ship on which he will cross the ocean. Destination the promised land, to an unknown country. This man is a migrant. If he leaves his life behind him is because he hopes to find a better, elsewhere, far from home and far from home. There, in this strange new country where he must learn to live, he will meet other people, exiles like him, and like him lost in this new world ...
Where are our fathers is an album of deep originality. Addressing a topic more relevant than ever - emigration - the author took advantage of a dreamlike narrative that acquires the force of a universal and timeless story. This mute BD - and thus readable by anyone, anywhere in the world - is both fantasy story, the tale of initiation and history book. Drawn in sepia tones, as if history was between dream and reality and between past and present, this album deals with a universal theme without falling into pathos with the evocative power of graphics and mesmerizing magic its images.
