The ball head is relatively light, yet stable enough.
However, I 2 unsightly things are noticed.
The friction does not interfere with the way I imagine it. Even at the end stop, the head can be easily adjusted. If you do not constantly has its hand on the camera they could even tilt forward and slam the lens to the tripod (with an open bracket).
Worse is to align and clamp the retaining clip, the camera tilts a few millimeters forward.
That may not matter at wide-angle shots. In macro etc it's annoying when you have finally found the neckline and focus.
