Ordered and delivered the next day already. Just as I know it from Amazon and DHL :-)
On the positive side, I would mention the following points:
- Very fast, even though I have selected only the smallest processor. The unit is due to fast SSD hard drive up completely after 14 seconds.
- The processing can be described as mostly good to very good.
- It looks great!
- Metal housing
- Very long battery life (about 8 hours).
- All connections are available that I need. It is good if all three USB ports would operate on the standard 3.0 would. Currently there is only one. Is for me but bearable.
- The Ultrabook mostly operates silently. Only at higher load is from time to time to hear a slight "noise", but this is not very quiet and very annoying.
- The Ultrabook is not very warm.
- The ability to illuminate the keyboard is really great!
- The much maligned display is for me properly (see below for more).
- The WLAN will also work flawlessly without crashes
Criticisms:
- The Windows disk is missing. There is an extra hidden partition with which you can make a recovery of the system partition. The but only if the hard disk is not defective. Lay the unit on the installation media in, that would be no problem even if a hard disk crash. Unfortunately, this is but now almost all manufacturers standard practice.
- It would be nice if there were a hard drive LED. I look just like to know if my laptop is working or not. But is not essential :-)
- The keyboard could be a bit more workable. But this is whining at a high level.
- Something much pre-installed "Bloatware" (unneeded software, in part, only trial versions). This but you can easily uninstall itself.
Tips:
- In the UEFI BIOS can adjust to that the F keys actually work as such and not as "hot keys" for all kinds of functions such as "brightness" or "Volume".. These can be prepared by changing the setting still call in which you press the actual button "FN" key.
- On the second partition of the hard drive are in the "Driver" all necessary drivers for later reinstallation ---> why pick well!
- If you at home next wireless LAN also has and wants to use this, an adapter LAN --- you can> USB buy (about 20 euros).
- Recommended that, at the very beginning a complete backup with a disk image program to make, so that you can restore it in case of problems at any time the original state.
- If you change the graph properties in the value of gamma of 1.0 to 0.7, the image looks much nicer (contrast).
Conclusion:
All in all it was a great buy, I have not regretted at all times. For 600 euros you get a similar nowhere fast, quiet and well-made notebook / ultrabook with SSD hard drive. The often criticized display (to be too dark and with poor contrast) is compared to my old netbook Samsung NC10 much better and in no case to be regarded as poor.
