All stories just succession to read off, however, was not possible for me, because each has its own special message. About each of these messages I had to think long and only once was able to embark immediately on a new story therefore. This is already the great thing about these short stories: They leave an impression. Because they are written so dense and rich. Because Alice Munro manages scarce descriptions to make all of life emerge in the mind's eye. Because they make it that you will be emotionally carried away by the stories. Content they told here, as the title suggests, the bare life. There is always some problem, a disease, something that can seem anything but flawless life. And very few stories have a happy ending. Many are tragic, sad, yet sad and beautiful. If it then but times are a happy ending, it is an infinite relief.
The last four short stories in this collection are autobiographical nature. They show moments of their lives, their childhood and early youth in the foreground stand. These stories I liked though, the writing style was still appealing, but here is a message I missed. Considered separately from the fictional part of this collection, which was me wanting more, these four stories are nevertheless impressive moments of a life.
Impressive how each story in this collection. 5 of 5 stars.
