Replaced the 18-55 kit lens on my Sony A58. After some time in operation is a brief review. The image quality is noticeably better than that of the kits, esp. In the 100% view it is clear that with the Tamron 17-50 f / 2.8 from the 20Mpx sensor the A58 can get more. There are captured finer details, the overall image is sharper and the colors are rich and natural. So you have more reserves when cropping. At open aperture edge blurring can be reported, but disappear when stopping down. The occurrence of chromatic aberrations is kept within limits. One millimeter more focal length at the wide angle makes itself noticeably felt. The biggest plus is in my view the consistent maximum aperture of f / 2.8, which is obtained by a greater scope (exemption!) In the staging of his motives and in available light scenarios simply offers more reserves. The lens is inner focusing and processed sound. Therefore, and due to the fairly high weight makes it a sophisticated look. Have it registered directly at Tamron and now am about 5 years warranty. Bin top satisfied!
