I use this lens on the Fujifilm X-E1 and would like to share my experiences. About a helpful review I am happy, but also comments.
Processing:
Consistently high quality. The sun visor snaps well. The back cover is not quite as exhilarating as that of JJC of Enjoyyourcamera.de, although it is firmly seated, but Not quite so firmly! The begelieferte bag is okay, but does not replace a proper protection.
Handling:
The lens can be to focus well. Simply place on 2m and enjoy (really works quite well). At the Fuji with a magnifying glass is not so much to do, since the far-off lenses are barely visible due to the focal length. The near-lenses (under 1m) can be to focus well and use the focus peaking. Anything above that is sharply at a setting of 2 m. If you're in a room is of a length of 4m, then everything is sharp in the picture. The focus ring turns difficult, but not stiff. One does not turn so often and therefore is irrelevant him. On my Canon 50mm F1.4 FDn that is another matter, as a soft focus is very important and pleasant.
The initial aperture of 2.8 is very useful and the images are all together sharply. A dim stage brings more sharpness, but in my opinion it is not necessary due to the sharpness dim.
You can still take sharp photos at 1/20 in dark rooms at aperture 2.8 and ISO 800 or 1600. All useful! The first has surprised me because I thought that the images are more blurred / verruckelt.
Image Quality:
The image quality is excellent - I am very enthusiastic. The complete image is sharp and useful. Photographed and reworked with RAW you can achieve outstanding results. Otherwise I use Konica lenses. The image quality is not quite comparable to that of a normal lens. This is also due to the distortion. Nevertheless, one can speak of an outstanding image quality. I had other Fisheye lenses from Canon and Sigma and the Walimex can here aufjedenfall draw level.
I highly recommend this lens. Rarely had so much love to take pictures. If you keep the horizon in the middle, then it stays straight and you can the atypical fisheye look produce (great for beaches).
Tip: The Walimex is manufactured by Samyang. They are identical, and one is to have cheaper ;-)
