The playful appeal of these exercises is fantastic.
Each page of this workbook is divided into columns. Each column includes twenty arithmetic questions intended specifically for children 9 to 10 years: addition and subtraction of numbers, multiplication tables, halves of odd and even numbers, quarters, addition and subtraction of decimals. The exercises are in ascending order of difficulty.
The goal is that the child to a column in a minute. The role of the adult is to give the starting time and stop the clock .... and of course to congratulate the child on his score. It is rare that the child arrives at the first attempt to do a column no fault in less than 60 seconds. The unspoken goal of this game is that the child improves his own score. It must be exercised regularly and preferably be a strip daily. Gradually, the score will increase and the child will feel more confident. In the process, the child will learn in a relatively short time to focus to be more effective.
