Handiness
The handle of Furminators is thicker and adapts well to my hand. The work order is very convenient. Unlike the Carding Striegel of Trixie he has a mechanism by which one pushes the hair out of the comb. I have very small hands and get along well with the key handle.
For one-handed brush this function is very convenient. But not essential.
The Trixi eversion does not have this feature, but I have always scraped off on a damp cloth and went just as well. The handle of Trixiestriegels is however thinner and adapts to not very good.
Hence my score for Trixie-harrow is 4 points and 5 points for the FURminator, but which I have to say that it probably is more to luxury with the advantages of Furminators
Efficiency
The efficiency is the all-important point for me.
As an allergy sufferer lives in my household, just a brush must be found during the moulting season in spring, really everything rausholt from the coat, which is possible.
By Trixie-Striegel I actually came well clear. He has partly caught the undercoat, but only in moderation. To achieve satisfactory results, I had to brush the cat daily to ensure that the hair was bearable until the next day.
The FURminator is here about the three or four times taken out of the coat and especially also the undercoat. Since this is the first change of coat with the FURminator, I can report no long-term experience with him - but the state of affairs here, the brush will probably be every 3-4 days is sufficient.
Since there is such a huge difference in performance, I need to reflect him in the points. Trixie 2 and FURminator. 5
Behavior of the cat
The other super important criterion is of course, if the cat tolerates the brush. I belong to the cat owners whose animals can wonderfully do without brushes. Therefore, it should not take too long. 10-15 minutes are here the absolute maximum that I can expect my animals. Then the Gehampel starts and they start to fight back.
The FURminator I work quickly and efficiently. Within the time available to me I can do almost the entire body. As pleasant it is not perceived, but judging by the behavior of my animals, they would probably classify the FURminator as "tolerable".
Trixie appears to be just as "tolerable" here. Again, I can do the whole body in my time.
Here, I give both breasts 4 points. Pleasant and beautiful is certainly something else - but it does not seem to hurt.
Cleaning
Both brushes can be disassembled and cleaned and disinfected properly. Personally I do not do that, but it is possible. Perhaps more important for professional grooming.
Therefore, no rating
Appearance
Personally, I find the FURminator something pretty because it looks more professional in my eyes.
Since this is a matter of taste is no rating
Value Conclusion:
I think both brushes are their price justice.
I would again have to decide, as it did when I bought the Trixie Brush, today I would pay the extra and have direct access to the FURminator, because it pays.
There are certainly many people who achieve results as good as the version of Trixie (this is probably also dependent on the nature of the fur) but my experience shows that the FURminator is worth the money and solves the Trixiebürste now well off.
