G Data has promptly after installation found 11 viruses and Trojans that my old Vreinscanner had obviously overlooked. In that respect I am quite zufrienden with the product. Otherwise, G Data has the same functions like all other virus scanners also. What was a bit annoying, the virus scan was at idle, so if you sit a long time in place. For this purpose, a screen saver from G Data turns that begins directly with the search. But as screensavers that stupid property have to interrupt other important processes if they start, I have the screen saver activated and removes the check mark behind idle scan. It's a useful feature that can indeed everyone decide for themselves. but would like to get the hint, if I want it or not. I will not be happy to patronize software :). Another negative point in my opinion is the update function. G Data aktuallisiert not only its virus database, but also two Engins (A and B), which can degenerate with slower Internet connections already at a marathon. Of course you can update the date and time set (hourly / daily / manual).
Pro:
- Find reliable virus
- No system slowdowns during the scan
Negatives:
- Every day must total of three updates are driven
- Only a very brief guide to the program
Conclusion:
Although my critique mostly negative sounds, I am very satisfied with the product, because G Data is supposed to find viruses in the first place and the G Data has done (11 pieces). Everything else is a matter of attitude.
