Galactic super, Mario!

Galactic super, Mario!

Super Mario Galaxy (Video Game)

Customer Review

I've been playing "Super Mario Bros." on the NES Mario games - and after 20 years of acting the whole concept is not worn at all. On the contrary - Super Mario has actually learned in every match.

The Story:
---------------
Basically, there is nothing new here. Princess Peach has been kidnapped by Bowser again - this time there is this even an unusually long and nicely made intro. Mario has witnessed the abduction and passes through a fall during the intro to a starship. This starship is with rooms (each access to different galaxies [Level] represent) the counterpart of the castle with his pictures in Super Mario 64. Only stupidly missing the ship energy to the pursuit of Bowser can accommodate. And who supplies the energy? Of course, the great Power Star. And where there is the? Of course, scattered in all kinds of galaxies with their smaller Pendents that the major needed to achieve again.

Gameplay:
---------
The focus therefore is the Sternenhatz again by all sorts of multi-colored levels. The tasks that must be solved are Mario to snag the coveted star very varied. Times a particular point in the level must be achieved, even bosses must be killed. Betting race on tricky courses reward players at the end as a star, must as a balance-track in Mario roll on a ball through the level (by tilting movements of the Wii Remote). There are also a lot of hidden bonus level or nice gimmicks like 2D JumpZnZRun passages for example, are placed around a three-dimensional object and surprise the player with varying gravity. It was the scope of review beyond enumerate all the small and big highlights of the game here, but the fact is: even if repeat certain task types, there are more than enough variety - and you should times get stuck in one place, can a game plenty of other ways to occupy themselves.

We already know the Sternenhatz yes from other Mario games - but they never presented as awesome as in "Super Mario Galaxy". The level design is not only completely loony, it is also on a high very high level and cooperates with the technology as a unified whole. The first few minutes I had to get used to the controller on the little round planet - but then there's times (which is surprisingly fast), Mario controls itself on verwuselten 3D objects as precisely as ever. The game was in any case perfectly adapted to both Wii controller. Frankly I can not imagine playing a Mario game in the future different me.

Graphics:
-------
For me, "Super Mario Galaxy" is so far the most beautiful game on the Wii. Yes, SMG acts even as an animated film on me. Of course there is no bombast Graphics as we know it from the current PC or console titles, but still everything is very visually appealing and harmonious. Even the simplest surface textures appear vivid and believable. You just have to have seen times to get an impression of it. The graphic designers at Nintendo have certainly done a great job here.

Sound:
------
The sound is - as far as I can tell it to a stereo system - great. Orchestra tracks spoil the ears and bring not only new tunes also plenty of newly refurbished classic Super Mario-pieces into play. The remaining sound effects weave perfectly into existing graphic level design fabric and form a so far unprecedented in a Mario game Symbiosis.
Speech does not exist except for a few fragments of words. Although I initially wanted to criticize here - me hats actually throughout the game not disturbed.

Scope:
-------
There are a total of 121 * stars to collect - only then you have the game played by "correct". I have not measured the time - felt I'd say it was more than 20 hours. But it was not one minute boring. Disappointing I found only that one can draw against Bowser in the final battle a bit too early. Here you would have the star limit can still start a little higher. Even the final battle in itself would have been a bit quiet demanding. In the second attempt I've killed him without any problems - because do not want to patronize really the victory over Mario's nemesis. But apart from the final battle, the playful level is so high and it is so much fun - so be forgiven this little blunder.
* Even a little note to 121. Stern (Caution, small spoiler): In order to collect these one must first collect all 120. Then Luigi is recognized as character. Now collecting with Luigi again every 120 stars you can enter a new galaxy and there collect the star 121. - or the 241. Stern - depending on how you want to see it. The game is, of course, so extremely stretched in order to get the last star - I personally like to start again the game with Luigi at; the level design and the control at least for me enough motivation to play through everything again.

Conclusion:
------
Super Mario Galaxy is a must buy for any Wii owner. It is also arguably the best 3D JumpŽnŽRun ever. Necessarily buy or can give. It is worth it.
