In terms of photo quality, the S4 Zoom is excellent, but not perfect. The pictures are very detailed but of course, the level of detail is not worth even a lower resolution of SLR ... It remains a compact ... However, we must recognize that the BSI CMOS sensor 16 megapixel camera that this team S4 zoom provides very good pictures even in low light.

In daylight, the pictures are always successful, indoors, it's a little worse but ultimately, like any compact camera ... Avoid moving and do not hesitate to use the flash. The Xenon flash is kind, ie the same as on a conventional camera. It allows pictures in bright interior and can even lead the shadows of an outdoor portrait.

Autofocus is effective even in a dark environment. It is in a compact camera. It is perfect for landscape or portrait, but it will probably be very limited for wildlife photography or children who have trouble staying still. In this case, the flash is activated avoiding or offsetting this type of blur.

There are a number of scene modes. My favorite being the mode "Tons Riches" (HDR mode actually) that can give more wealth in the urban landscape photos or pictures. The "Low Brightness" mode is also excellent. It compiles 3 photos of the same scene to eliminate digital noise. In both modes, we must remain very still but fortunately the S4 Zoom helps us through the stabilization of the sensor.

This optical stabilization (sensor shift that compensates for vibrations of the hand) enables clear shots even in poorly lit alleys by-example. This stabilization is also very nice in video mode.

Let's talk about what video mode also. It is simply excellent. The sharpness (sharpness) is excellent and on a HD TV, the rendering is superb ... Superior to a Sony HD camcorder. The camera remains to zoom in management terms, zoom that neither progressive nor discreet on the zoom S4.

The screen S4 Zoom is AMOLED type. This means there is no backlight, each screen pixel emits its own light. In other words, blacks are very deep and contrast is infinite. Without being denatured (screen is fairly faithful to the transcript), photos appear very flattering on the screen. It is a treat. Too bad it is not a bit bigger ... 4.3 "is greater than any other compact screen anyway ...

In 2014, Samsung has replaced the Galaxy S4 Zoom by K Zoom (S5 Zoom in fact) but I must say the S4 Zoom retains undeniable advantages. Notably concerning its small handle that makes more camera and allows a better grip ... And the thread for mounting on a tripod, missing the K Zoom ... So, I keep my S4 Zoom.
