As a fan of Android devices I had a few months ago an Android skirt Watch (also "Z1" called) gained. After a few hours I already knew that the Z1 is at best an extremely expensive toy for big kids, but nothing more (see my review on Amazon).
This clock is totally different! Very nicely processed updates installed Android OS, GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi, Google Play Store, installed 2 x 1.2 GHz dual-core CPU and - if I may write so casual - the whole thing is super fast. What surprised me most, however, is the relatively precisely working screen with 1.5 cm diagonal. The colors are bold, bright and even with "medium-thick sausage fingers", you can enter a phone number using the soft keyboard, albeit accompanied by a mini pen delivery. The screen reacts when scrolling without delay. Connect to my home wireless router was done within a few seconds. The Wi-Fi signal strength is good and corresponds to the built-in WiFi module my netbook. During a telephone conversation, the called party is loud and clear to be heard through the speaker, the same is true for voice transmission via microphone (what it looks like in the moving car, I must however still testing). Alternatively, I could also connect with my cheap Bluetooth headset. Surfing the Internet is - with certain restrictions of course - also possible. Largest restrictions set here represents the small screen and typing the web address on an ultra small mini keyboard. Here it is essential to use the supplied pen, yet the input is a rather delicate matter.
Apps can be installed easily over the Google Play Store, but you should be aware that not every app supports this miniature screen (and some apps do there really no point!). The RETURN and MENU buttons will be missing first. Both buttons can be used by a direction-oriented painting activate the screen (read instructions carefully!), As a software or hardware buttons both not available.
The AW414.Go is much more than a clock, and it would not be too exaggerated, if you would offer the device as a mobile phone. GPS I have not yet been tested.
Input my review I had already noted that the clock was "nice" processed. What everyone "nice" understands, of course, is a matter of taste. I think the clock by no means bulky, clumsy or even pretentious (unless you choose the Gold version, which should give it soon at a high price as well). The housing color is rather anthracite, not pitch black and has a light metallic shimmer. My wife, however, would not want to wear: o))
Properly original I find the connection to the clock on the PC or charger plug (not supplied) via USB. Since the developers have really come up with something tricky. Instead of the clock to implant a micro-USB connector (for IP65 not a viable option) has led to only 4 gold contacts for the USB port to the outside. Included with the clock is also a kind of docking station is (admittedly, a bit exaggerating name for this plastic module). First, you flip the cover of the "docking station" on, puts into the clock, folding the cover again and you can already connect a commercially available USB cable to this "docking station". Simple, inexpensive and yet functional well resolved. The clock is - protected splash, to shower or even swim but personally I would take off - according to IP65. The clock was unveiled at the IFA 2013 in Berlin, and it had then still some (many) week lasted until their delivery. The wait was worth it (I mean!). Now let's see how the clock / mobile phone behaves in the coming weeks and months.
Currently I would say at any rate, "at the price a strong buy recommendation"
