Dr Neil MacGregor probably has a soft spot for Germany.
In more than 30 chapters of the happiest to the darkest years of our history, he leads the reader into the German history. The present is not too short.
The book is the basis for the current exhibition at the British Museum.

MacGregors supplemented his work entitled: A History of the World in 100 Objects.
Also highly recommended.
