Good album, but dispensable Deluxe Edition

Howard Carpendale with an album about time and timelessness, which seems at present in German artistic circles a big issue to be (see Nena's new CD "old school"). Carpendale processed the theme in his lyrics, the music he makes no experiments: although the record company strives to lift the creative process of the album with promising young composers etc. - everything right, but the result remains classic Howie.

And that is also very OK, because in the profession, which is usually called "Schlager" Carpendale has always played very front. If the genre at all fit for him, you may also refer simply as German pop musicians, and especially its quite contemporary sound and serious lyrics on the current CD would characterize good. Although remains the great fascination that had its more innovative songs like "Laura Jane" or "Piano at night", but varied the album is all, from the serious "move mountains" to the breezy "It's all still there" served Carpendale a wide bandwidth.

On the Deluxe Edition you can however do without: in the cover versions they already comes on the one hand by the choice of songs not on kitsch past, and the Aufpeppung his big hits with flaky Discobeat can overhear. For all deluxe title that the originals are better.
