Rock the Block (Audio CD)

Customer Review

2003 appeared the fourteenth studio album by the Swiss band Krokus. Recorded it was Marc Storace: Voice, Lead Guitar: Fernando von Arb, rhythm guitar: Dominique Favez, Bass: Tony Castell and percussion: Patrick Aeby. The album was produced by Fernando von Arb, Dominique Favez and Patrick Aeby.

"Rock The Block" has quite typical Krokus sound and songs. It is surprising again and again that, despite the many line-up changes Krokus are always recognizable as crocus. Skip the first two songs `Mad World` and` Leading the pack` know how to please. The Single `I want it all` I find rather mediocre, it may be the 2nd single 'Open Fire' points. As to the other slices of the Swiss, also reminds "Rock The Block" to AC / DC. From a pure copy but you can not talk. Crocus pull even by their own style. `Looking for America` indeed begins somewhat doubtful, but then can score with splendid melody and chorus. `Hot shot` and` Raise your hands` make good mood. `Night of the snakes` is a good burger with bass groove. Funny begins `Throwing ago China` and has a toffen refrain. `We`ll rise` is a beautiful power ballad. The other tracks maintain the overall quality. The title song 'Rock the block` is then a short, crisp ejector. The production is also good, the sound is nothing to complain.

"Rock The Block" is a continuously good album without now the really big hits were at the start, as so often. In the 80s I like for example better than the last album "Dirty Dynamite". Therefore, there are 4 star and a buy recommendation.
