Haptics & Size: 4 stars
Unlike its predecessor, the Nexus 7 (2013) has grown slightly in length. If the negative impact on ?! No, not really. It can be so in my opinion, hold even slightly better in landscape mode. What falls much more significant, is actually the weight! At just 299gr in the WiFi version, it is a real lightweight! This definitely falls on positive. Even after a long surfing, video watch, etc. It does not feel heavy or occur no fatigue at least for me. The feel in itself is absolutely superb. The back is made of a similar material as the Nexus 5. Although it is a little more slippery than the phone but in spite of everything still worlds better than many competing tablet. A drawback, however, lies in the placement of the micro USB connector. This is clearly noticeable, especially in landscape mode. That would Google or Asus better able to solve!
Software & Performance: 5 stars
On the subject of software: Currently running on the N7 (2013) Android 4.4.4. The update to Android 5 Lollipop is already announced. Vanilla Android feels for me personally still best at. SoC Qualcomm S4 Pro SD (actually a SD 600) and 2GB RAM. The combination is also today, albeit still mediocre, in the acceptable range. One notices, however, so slow that it is a bit slower. But the requirements Yes rise from year to year!
Conclusion: the end of 2014 still in order!
Display & Battery: 5 stars
Display Resolution FHD 1920x1080 pixels / 323 PPI. For a tablet of this size, it is really a stunner. The color is in my opinion absolutely terrific! The viewing angles are good and the contrast class. Of course it does not have the black levels of an AMOLED display but still my image like really good! In my view, this resolution should now belong to the absolute standard. Once you are used to it, would you look at the display of the Galaxy Tab 7/8 series no longer do.
On the subject of battery: Difficult to assess. Everyone uses the equipment, after all, different. For me, the Nexus holds about 2 days, then it will be reloaded. And I have an average Display On Time approximately 5-6 hours. Mind you after approximately 1 year use! This performance can I find more than okay.
A very big plus: wireless upload after the QI standard. Is with me always one more point! While it will take about 5 hours to 4, the device is fully charged, but since it is always charged overnight, is me not care. I'm already looking forward to the Nexus 9, the QI Laden is no longer supported there but at just 7000mAh would all also take a long time!
Camera: 2 Stars
Take pictures with a tablet ... Actually, you would not have to write it. To occasionally take a snapshot of the clippers OK. The pictures are by off relatively very noisy and so not really usable as camera replacement. You Frontfacing Camera is for occasional video calls in order. But nothing more!
Problems:
Up to this point I could not detect any problems in the daily operation with the Nexus !!!
Final verdict:
Absolute buy recommendation (4 stars)! Still, even after a year, my daily tablet!
And seen priced it is still hard to beat! The successor is indeed already ordered but retire I'll 7 (2013) for a long time not to send the Nexus!
