The white peak level is very bright (good for maximum illumination of Ca 10-15qm Spaces). The lower levels are significantly darker, as the colored steps. That's what I also expect so, Ambilight is no floodlights. Lamp remembers last adjusted light setting. I use it as Ambilight for the bathroom and find it well suited to. About long-term durability of the control electronics of course I can not say anything yet. Remote control range is guaranteed within a normal apartment.
