Due to bad experiences with so-called alternative cartridges a few years ago I was totally against its use.
I was using an Epson photo printer and had me my printhead zersört with these cartridges (the nozzles clogged gradually irreversible).
It was also the light fastness of the prints more than bad, after a few months, the colors faded over charge.
So I used afterwards only original cartridges, so annoying this was also (because of the inflated price).
A little over a year ago I was reading a report then that the quality of alternative cartridges is now at a very good level.
It should even be individual producers, exceed the quality of Orignalpatronen.
So I dared and then ordered me to CLI-8 cartridges of the company Peach for the Canon.
These were even test winner by Stiftung Warentest (although I not necessarily give it much ...).
And indeed, my IP4200 ran with these alternative cartridges properly without any Beklägnisse.
The quality was excellent.
So changed my attitude to the alternative cartridges.
Now I had the opportunity to test the AmazonBasics replacement cartridges for Canon Multipack CLI-8 (cyan, magenta, yellow).
The cartridges are safe and individually packaged, delivered in a neutral package.
They make a perfect visual impression of refilling are no signs to be seen.
Fitting and commissioning (there were no problems with the chips) were faultless.
The quality of the prints is fine, there is no noticeable degradation of the printed image, or banding in photo printing.
I can not make no statements about the lightfastness.
Conclusion:
The Amazon cartridges are a real alternative to expensive OEM cartridges.
But by me anyway only 4 stars because the (also good) competition (Peach) is much cheaper again.
Addendum:
Meanwhile I use the cartridges a little over 2 months.
Since I'm doing mostly photo prints on photographic paper I look even closer.
I have no banding or other problems.
The color reproduction is very good.
This speaks for a good quality.
