This device I've actually bought to test whether the LED technology really so much more light than z. B. offers a 500W halogen or 85W energy saving bulb. As you can see in my video on YouTube, the light is not enough to replace these lights. Especially for a Green Screen Lighting LED lighting a favorable would have been so interesting, but I was able to quickly determine that the lamp is not really suited for it. Although it has more than enough light, if you just need only a brightening and is traveling with the camera, but for a studio set is not recommended. If you mounted the handle which is hollow inside, so you can mount the LED lamp on a tripod; Unfortunately, you can no longer tend the spotlight, making it unusable for studio use. It would be nice even a power supply via a cable have been, so that one is not always rely on Sony NP or normal AA batteries.
The color screens are indeed a nice dowry, but the white diffusion panel is probably the most important thing of all. Here briefly the positive and negative aspects of the device are summarized:
Positives:
+ Cheap (about 65 Euro)
+ Lots of accessories (diffusion and color filter, handle, hot shoe adapter, stand)
+ Betreibar with Sony NP battery or 8x AA batteries
+ (Possible but not tilt!) With handle can be attached to tripods
+ No heat, light and compact (due to LED technology)
Negatives:
- Tendency not adjustable on handle (unusable for sets)
- Last brightness level is not stored after switching off (always start with the brightest level)
- No continuous light regulation
- The battery status can be displayed only when the unit is switched on
Conclusion:
So I would go recommend device so definitely, because it is small, lightweight and can be powered by batteries. As "emergency" when really there is no other light source available reaches the light well. But a complete set to illuminate z. B. a green screen, you should hereby not compile (s. Above reasons and in the YouTube video).
Maybe you can use a hair light (Hairlight) in a three points lighting system with a boom stand there: Above all, it is easy, flat and its battery power independent from cables. Therefore, this use option would not be so bad.
