The device is working properly on my Gentoo Linux system under Windows I have not tested it, but it should also not be a problem. I run it with an old 2.5 "notebook hard drive to a USB hub with external power supply (by just in case not to exceed the 500mA maximum provided by the USB port and the USB port to disable it or to damage even) and has so far not discovered any operational problems. Only negative is striking that the adapter is not made particularly robust and the Mini-USB port easily breaks by careless handling. Bonding can this not because the case can not be opened. Should loosen the bush so you can only send in the adapter or buy a new one. Other defects are not noticed, my conclusion is: recommendable.
