2. First impression:
The battery must be charged via the charging station and can not be loaded directly from the camera. The one hand has the advantage that can be photographed, while a second battery charges. On the other hand you have the charger haul and not just a charging cable if you have no second battery. The battery is charged within about half an hour.
There are several modes in which the camera can be operated. The beauty of it, the functions are displayed when turning the adjustment wheel (in English) as a short text for 2 seconds, so that you know what this mode is used.

The menu is intuitive and the large, high-resolution diplay adjustable in 4 exposure steps. The settings menu is populated with the usual Canon functions, so that if you're like me umsteigt of older models to this, not to have to get used.
3. Test:
I am the classic holiday - and family pictures type. Since there are very few claims: focus should be the picture and you want to take snapshots and not rumplagen with settings. Furthermore, should also grandma and mom to come to terms with the camera when it is rumgereicht (There are the easy Mode).
All this met this camera. I shot some pictures outdoors and indoors and am completely satisfied. The pictures turned out nice and sharp, both indoors and outdoors. It reacts fast enough for snapshots and image stabilizer are also these sharp.
The data transfer to the computer went quickly and without a hitch, the camera is recognized immediately. The supplied software is not required and, in my opinion is even more useless.
At night shots with and without flash they failed miserably. you need usually 3 or more attempts, so it's time not too blurry. In the dark, is possible without a tripod almost no good reception. Also in macro photography of insects and flowers, the camera has significant deficits and it's hard to get them exactly the level that would take pictures do to provide sharp and not behind or in front of it.
Conclusion:
As good or as bad as my old Canon, only with higher resolution. Do what they want, namely good, sharp images and snapshots without having to be rumplagen with settings, but nothing more.

A memory chip is not in the camera and also has no internal memory like many others.
