the black flexible joint (bi-material shell) secures the phone in the hull and also serves as a non slip on smooth surface when you put the phone face against the media.

the -:
the flexible seal like making it possible to disconnect it from the rest of the shell during the extraction of the phone.
the seal can also be a tendency to take off the screen protection film if one is very close to the edge.

in conclusion: 2 hulls bought it a month ago for a colleague and myself. that of colleague seal that stands out. mine for now, all is well where the 4 stars.
