I needed an audio interface for miking drums and also for my occasional shots at performances. Most low-cost audio interfaces offer unfortunately mostly only 2 channels and devices with 8 and more channels then go really into money. This interface provides the ability to capture 6 channels simultaneously (4x mic / line + 2xLine) and also has to offer some DSP functions for live editing. (Apparently, however, it is not possible to have multiple UR44 simultaneously on a computer operate). The 4 microphone channels can be switched in pairs with 48V phantom power and have level controls. Two separately controllable headphone outputs and 4 Line outputs and MIDI sockets complete the equipment. Since two of the four mic inputs are high impedance (High-Z), also electric guitars and basses can be connected directly. If I have more than 4 microphones in use, I close the critical 4 pieces directly on the UR44 and the rest I mix with my analog console together in stereo and go into the two line inputs of the UR44. For this device you also get a Cubase AI license, so that the professional music production nothing stands in the way.
