I wanted a camera to take pictures in very wet areas (rainforests). This device is rainproof and it does not seem too fragile but under normal use (keep careful). The picture quality is good but not great It is a good camera, great for making pictures with friends in a little difficult conditions, but obviously it was not the optical quality of a DSLR. The GPS is useless and empty it very quickly especially the battery, so you have to neutralize it. Finally, considering the plastics that are presumed to seal the different connections (including battery slot), I think it is best to avoid going for a swim in the pool with ..... In summary, great if you are looking for a unit to go to places limits (rain, presence of water, snow) but not if you want to scuba dive. Be aware that a 100% waterproof appliance still does not exist.
