Now have good 50std. on the IE80 and am very happy with my purchase. As with its predecessor IE8, they do not show up -directly from the packaging genommen- their best sides. Highs are in the first hours right "scratchy" and the bass comes over overemphasized. Buyers should be recommended before the judgment, at least 5-10 hours of operation (eg Youtube Pink NoiseFile for baking at ambitious Volume / resp. Free swing of the bead) having the driver.
IEM comparison References:
- Sennheiser IE8
- Tralucent 1Plus2
- Shure SE215
DAPs used:
Astell and core AK100 (RWA Modded)
HTC One + Audio Quest Dragonfly
PRO:
- Very good price / performance ratio
- Stage presentation (as with the IE8) very wide and differentiating
- Bass "is washing" is no longer so in the middle as in IE8 but still very strong
- Very easy to drive ... comes out with little power.
- Very (very) well suited for electronic music.
- Cable (replaceable), connectors and housings processed very clean.
CONTRA:
- Cable quality very good, but will not come closer to the ingenious cable of IE8.
- Allow only moderately "OverEar" wear - I recommend using the right plug to swap left and classic to wear hanging down.
- For complex orchestral pieces, they begin "muddy" to at once, for example. Hans Zimmer in the "full" goes. Here you realize significant concessions to high-end IEMs as the Tralucent 1Plus2 which have each instrument continues to control and present them clearly.
- Not really suitable for sport. Do not hold enough in the ear and are more prone to moisture.
All in all, for me the unique price / value for money (now) for sports, I recommend the Shure SE215. Keeps Bombenfest in the ear, very comfortable to wear and would be my recommendation for
