As a precaution, I bought a new Western Digital hard drive 250 GB 2.5 '' IDE, for my laptop ASUS A4D. I tested the unit with the former DD, capacity 60 GB Hitachi, I just used for 5 years on my laptop, and both work fine on Win XP sp3 and Ubuntu 10.04. For cons, I tried the box with my new hard drive and I have big concerns in writing in XP mode. The two are not compatible, I have error messages. Sometimes, Win XP hangs in playback mode. I specify that the same hard disk works for 4 months on my laptop (Ubuntu 10.04) without pb, so this is the case wrong with. My advice: with the new generation DD (> = 160GB), perhaps a newer product will give better satisfaction.
