The controls are accompanied from plastic (switches, knobs, handles) and in a few cases by chrome elements. All in all, the device acts so certainly no more expensive than is. But who buys or ordered by some known inexpensive brands here on Amazon priced products in discount stores, but will notice a positive difference.
Nevertheless pity you more material costs could probably achieve a lot if you wanted for 10 yet.
The Gaggia has 2 Siebträgereinsätze: ground coffee, but also pads. Since I generally find more moderately great latter due to the associated packaging waste and its relatively high price, I have my coffee, my coffee or cappuccino made only with fresh ground coffee by this time.
Although I like to drink coffee, I'm probably not a connoisseur in terms of some other reviewers here as well as in wine applies to me mostly liked or not liked.
After filling with water, a first airing and waiting for the warm-up I have in accordance with our usual coffee used (private coffee, for hand-filtered ground) and the result was quite okay. I rarely felt, hand poured achieve a truly better result would be.
Having but borrowed and used an appropriate grinding machine, the result is actually once again significantly better. The coffee must be very finely ground, almost in the consistency of flour or custard powder and are then firmly pressed with a tamper. The taste of the result also this rather simple espresso machine really really good.
The filter holder is not quite as elegant built into the machine and sometimes it requires some strength to leave these snap reasonable. With some practice, but you get used to it. Even the milk frother is a matter of training before the first cappuccino according to the instructions looked like it took a while. And honestly I succeed even after about 2 weeks did not still enough to beat the stiff froth.
The only thing that really bothers me is the dripping of the Gaggia, if one has once pulled the cup. All too often one thinks the drink would have to be gone through, and drips after a short break and drops it. So one wipes but often by or must dispose of the residual liquid.
For the outcome of specialty coffees is really good, you have to get used to the device. And even if the cleaning effort is sometimes higher, it goes slightly out of hand. The individual parts are easy to clean and mostly easy to put together. The envelope forgive the one or other shock or contact with a heavy object to have no dents or grooves.
For the price, all in all a fair product that is not perfect, but really good. Some shortcomings but left feeling they were not to be overlooked in a real product testing and therefore not quite built without intent to ultimately entice to buy a more expensive device.
